The Australian Government has provided Tasmania with an interim allocation of 165 skilled visa nomination places for 2025-26, including 85 for the subclass 190 visa and 80 for the subclass 491 visa. These places will be used to finalise nominations for provisionally approved applicants from the 2024-25 program. All subclass 491 provisional approvals will be nominated, but due to limited subclass 190 places, only applicants in Australia with visas expiring soon or on a Bridging visa will be prioritised. Remaining approved applicants will receive nominations once the full 2025-26 allocation is confirmed. The new program has not yet opened to fresh registrations of interest, with further details to be released in the coming weeks.
