The Tasmanian Skilled Migration State Nomination Program officially opened on 6 October 2025. The Migration Tasmania Application Gateway is undergoing updates and is expected to accept new Registrations of Interest (ROIs) by the close of business on 10 October 2025.
This year’s program introduces several key changes, including:
-
A more user-friendly website
-
Clearer minimum eligibility criteria
-
Updated priority attributes and a revised ROI ranking system
-
Adjusted income thresholds aligned with new earnings benchmarks and the Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold
-
Simplified policy guidance in the Additional Information, Exclusions and Definitions section
The service fee for nomination applications has increased to $370 ($407 including GST), while submitting an ROI remains free.
Migration Tasmania advises candidates who submitted an ROI in the last six months to consider withdrawing and resubmitting under the new ranking system to improve their chances.
A webinar on 14 October 2025 (11:00 AM – 12:00 PM AEST) will provide details on allocations, website updates, priority changes, overseas candidate requirements, and allow for audience questions.
